At Vrenetic, we’re dedicated to bringing you new technologies in a fun and social atmosphere. In honor of our team members who work tirelessly to make the Vresh App just that, we’re going to be highlighting an employee who makes working here just that much better.
This week we had a chat with Associate Product Manager, Andrew Szeto, about working his product work and the Crypto Market.
What’s your favorite thing about working at Vrenetic?
My favorite “thing” has to be the learning environment that Vrenetic provides, it forces me to grow as an individual. I am usually able to learn something new every week working with a lot of very talented individuals. And… the people I work with are cool… I guess? Duke’s the coolest though, he’s my lunch buddy.
What are you most excited about at Vrenetic?
All the amazing content our users are going to be uploading to our platform. It’s going to be exciting to see the creativity behind some of our users.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Well…I do enjoy long walks on the beach, deep conversation, holding hands… I mean~! I spend most of my free time reading books and working on my side project in hopes that one day it will take off.
Any advice for people just starting out in your field?
Usually, it’s easier to build a foundation at a start-up rather than at more established companies that require like “10,000 years of experience” for an entry-level position in product management.
It’s a lot easier transitioning into Product being in QA, Design, and/or Development. If you’re looking to transition from other departments, you’re going to have to invest some time into learning how product management works, express your interests to the Product team and provide as much value to them by assisting them on whatever their needs may be. Having a technical background, such as knowing how to code, is a huge plus too.
What’s your favorite TV show right now?
Watching Bitcoin’s rising and falling price action is currently my favorite and least favorite show currently. It’s a love-hate relationship. Highly volatile.
Tune in next time to meet more of the team!
