Here at Vresh, we know that the creators are what make our application so special. In today’s Creator Spotlight, we introduce a videographer from Switzerland, Philipp Huber (@phil), who discusses with us his lifelong passion for flying and hiking and reveals how the 360° technology helps him reach new heights.
Vresh: Please introduce yourself to our readers. Who are you and what are you most passionate about?
Philipp: Professionally, I am an IT specialist with a keen interest in technology, but I define myself as a nature-loving outdoor enthusiast. Photography and videography are among my hobbies. My biggest passion, however, is flying.
Vresh: How did you first discover your passion for flying? What is your favourite thing about it?
Philipp: I’ve been fascinated by planes and everything that flies ever since I was a child. I started flying single-engine aircraft when I was 17 years old. Later, I started paragliding and speed-riding. I believe hiking and flying are the perfect combination of workout and fun. These activities also allow me to work on my portfolio of 360° videos as my equipment is super light and the camera is always aboard.

Vresh: How did you first get into 360° cameras or video?
Philipp: It all started with producing segmented panoramas. I used to place a digital camera on a rotary tripod plate to get photos suitable for image stitching. Then, I would combine multiple pictures with the help of a computer software. As you can imagine, it was a time-consuming task, and the results were not always satisfying. Eventually, I decided to make my life easier and I bought my first 360° camera.
Vresh: What was your first 360° camera? How easy was the process for you to learn to film and edit 360° video?
Philipp: My first 360° camera was a Ricoh Theta m15, which was a great camera at the time. Currently, I am using the Insta360 One X, but I also own the Insta360 One.
Cameras, apps, and smartphones have improved significantly since I started using the 360° technology, which has made the editing process quite easy.
Vresh: What type of videos do you like to create?
Philipp: I like creating clips focused on landscapes as flying gives fine views of the surroundings. It’s important for me to keep my videos short because human attention span is at its lowest ever, and I want the viewers to enjoy my content to the maximum.
Vresh: What is your technique when it comes to editing? Do you use Software or apps? If so, which one do you prefer and why?
Philipp: For most of editing, I use the Insta360 One X app. It runs fine on my phone and it has the features I need. I use Vresh to add filters and music and the VIRB® software from Garmin to merge 360° videos. All of these tools are free and user-friendly.
Vresh: What video projects are you currently working on? What can we expect from you in the future?
Philipp: Winter is coming! 😉 I am looking forward to skiing and speed-riding, and I’ll make sure to capture my excitement in Vresh capsules.

Vresh: Where can people follow you on social media?
Philipp: You can find me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/philipphuber74/
